RPM and Classic Team Lotus archive partnership

Hamlins’ Commercial and Tech team advised Racing Past Media (RPM) on its long-term partnership with Classic Team Lotus, which preserves, maintains and restores the Formula One legacy of Team Lotus.

Racing Past Media is a leading archive and media company focused on preserving motorsport history, providing access to historic Formula 1 footage for researchers, broadcasters and fans worldwide.

The partnership

This archive partnership between RPM and Classic Team Lotus provides access to legacy content relating to Team Lotus and its founder Colin Chapman, including rarely seen material from the Chapman archives, and newly researched material from local broadcast footage and classic documentaries.

Colin Chapman was the founder of Lotus Cars and Team Lotus and is regarded as one of the most influential figures in Formula One history. Team Lotus won 7 Constructors’ Championships and 6 Drivers’ Championships during the 1960s and 1970s under Chapman’s leadership.

Hamlins advised RPM on the arrangements supporting the partnership and the development of a framework for the management and licensing of the archive’s content. This will allow for Lotus’ unique content to be marketed and licensed via RPM bespoke online catalogue.

The agreement expands RPM's collection of historic motorsport footage and will help make previously unseen material available to audiences worldwide.
