Consultation to amend the Electronic Communications Code giving Operators even greater rights of access to a Landlord’s property

The Government’s ambitious plans to expand broadband across the UK, involves nationwide coverage of gigabit-capable networks by 2033. To ensure that this is implemented the Electronic Communications Code came into effect on December 2017 granting Operators greater rights with regard to access to property. However, the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport issued a consultation paper proposing amendments to the Code with regard to access for Operators to both residential and commercial premises, see the link below:
