How did you get to where you are now?

My route to my current role is fairly typical as I studied law at university and went on to start my training contract as soon as I completed my Legal Practice Course.

The route was not an easy one, however, as I finished university in the middle of the last recession and so training contracts were scarce at the time. But I was extremely determined and was lucky enough to secure a training contract after making approximately 100 applications!

What made you want to join Hamlins?

The size and culture of Hamlins really appealed to me, together with the quality and variety of work.

What is the best thing about working for Hamlins?

It is a very friendly and supportive firm.

What are 3 words to describe Hamlins?

Quality, approachable and forward-thinking.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given?

‘If at first you don’t succeed, try try again’. That was certainly a motto I had to live by when I was applying for training contracts.

What excites you about working in law?

I think of myself as a problem solver and love to achieve good results for my clients. The ever-changing nature of the law and the many different facets of it means that you are constantly learning something new.
