Our team has been working closely with property companies and developers for many years and has the skills and knowledge to ensure that, when acting for borrowers, lenders get everything they need to enable them to provide the funds required, whether it be development finance, bridging finance or longer term borrowing . Our clients consider us their firm of choice for our expertise and the quality of services we provide to them.
Our ‘bread and butter’ work is acting on the finance of development and investment property but we are equally adept at financing and securing corporate share purchases of property-owning companies.
We regularly support our global client base with both domestic and overseas projects, drafting and negotiating the (English law) funding and security documents and working closely with lawyers, accountants and corporate administrators in other jurisdictions.
The team has specialist knowledge of warehouse developments, student accommodation, high end residential developments, developments of blocks of flats and hotel developments. We work closely with other real estate professionals and undertake security review for lenders and/or proposed receivers in relation to distressed loans and act for clients on enforcement of security.
Our aim is to make transactions happen as smoothly and quickly as possible and for all parties to be able to do business together, often repeat business, with a minimal of fuss.
Work highlights include:
- Acting for a London based group of property investment companies on loans secured over residential and commercial investment portfolio across the UK in a number of separate transactions with various lenders in the aggregate amount of around £200 million over the past 6 years.
- Advising an overseas real estate investor on loans from an overseas bank to assist with the purchase of high-value London office and retail properties in 4 separate transactions in the aggregate amount of £133 million.
- Acting for a group of property investment companies on loans secured over office and retail properties in Swindon, Milton Keynes, Bristol, Liverpool and Sheffield from various lenders in a number of transactions in the aggregate amount of £49 million.
- Acting for subsidiaries of an AIM company in relation to property investment facilities from NatWest (£40 million) and Lloyds (£6.8 Million) secured over commercial properties across England.
- Acting for a property investment company on a £26 million refinance of a commercial (retail and office) property portfolio in Manchester with a high-street lender.
