The Zoo Investment Company
Hamlins acted for The Zoo Investment Company, the defendant landlord, in a dispute relating to the defendant landlord serving section 146 notices on its claimant tenant of a zoo in Cumbria pursuant to two leases for the premises. A preliminary hearing trial took place for 3 days in the Manchester High Court in 2022, following which we are now involved in an arbitration in relation to the ownership of the animals at the Zoo, and an independent expert determination regarding the valuation of goods previously at the zoo. Most recently, Hamlins obtained an emergency injunction restraining the exportation of two animals.
