Cycle the Summits
In June 2021, the Cycle the Summits challenge saw five adventurers set out to be the first team to scale the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales, cycling between and summiting the three peaks while on Brompton folding bikes.
The team, which included Hamlins Managing Partner, Matthew Pryke took on the challenge to raise vital funds for the Ruth Strauss Foundation (RSF).
Hamlins proudly sponsored the challenge, alongside Brompton, which provided customised Red for Ruth bikes; Garmin, which supplied the team with all technical equipment; and Le Col, which provided the kit.
The challenge took place over four days, during which the team cycled more than 690km for a total of 32.5 hours, and walked 42.9km for a total of 13.5 hours; summiting Snowdon (1,085 metres), Scafell Pike (978 metres) and Ben Nevis (1,345 metres).
Matthew Pryke said: “This was without doubt one of the toughest challenges I’ve undertaken, but the support we received along the way was incredible. I am so happy we have raised awareness of the Ruth Strauss Foundation and been able to support the incredible work the charity does through everyone’s very generous donations.”
The team smashed its fundraising target, with over £63,000 raised for RSF.
