We have acted for, and against, a wide variety of professionals including surveyors, architects, construction consultants, civil engineers, law firms, accountants, actuaries, financial advisors and brokers.
We have particular expertise in acting against professionals in the construction and real estate industry, including acting against valuers who have provided negligent valuation advice to investors in significant property/development portfolios and investment schemes.
Recent work includes:
- We were instructed to act on behalf of private individuals in a significant construction dispute. Our clients made a claim for damages in respect of breach of contract and professional negligence against the main contractors, structural engineer and architects who had been appointed to work on the conversion of two large domestic London properties into one large property.
- We acted for a trust company and successfully defended against a professional negligence claim, involving a £1.2m inheritance tax dispute.
- We represented a football club in a claim against a firm of contractors for the substandard design and installation of a FIFA 2* certified football pitch. The substandard pitch led to serious drainage and levelling issues which resulted in the cancellation of match fixtures.
