Simon specialises in Media and Entertainment law and is a consultant in the Media Disputes department.
A Partner for many years with Mishcon de Reya, before running his own media law boutique.
He has extensive experience representing claimants and defendants. Many of Simon’s clients are high profile politicians or organisations advocating on human rights issues. He has acted in several landmark libel cases including Berkoff v Burchill, Stern v Piper, Slipper v BBC, and Lowe v Associated Newspapers. He is the author of ‘Media Law: A Practical Guide to Managing Publication Risks’ published by Sweet & Maxwell.
Simon has acted in numerous litigation matters involving production, distribution and sales agreements in the film and media sector. He acts for a number of prominent fashion brands.
As a former Consultant to the Institute of Practitioners in Advertising he provided pre-clearance advice to over 200 advertising agencies. As part of that role he was also a member of the Independent Television Commission’s Advertising Advisory Committee and the Committee of Advertising Practice.
