About Rachael

Rachael is a Senior Paralegal in the Media Disputes department.

Rachael works across a variety of matters from the ongoing litigation for unlawful information gathering against News Group Newspapers, Mirror Group Newspapers Limited, and Associated Newspapers Limited, through to a range of privacy and defamation claims.

Rachael has worked on claims for high-profile individuals across various stages of the dispute resolution process. She conducts pre-action research and disclosure analysis, attends meetings with clients, Counsel, and the wider claimant group of solicitors, and assists in drafting pleadings and at all stages of the settlement negotiation process.

Rachael assists in the Mobile Telephone Voicemail Interception Litigation against News Group Newspapers, in which Hamlins is the Lead Solicitor and represents numerous high-profile claimants. She has experience in preparing for and attending hearings and liaising with Counsel and Court on a regular basis.

She joined Hamlins in September 2023 and was promoted to Senior Paralegal in September 2024.

Rachael graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2019 with a BA in English Literature, before obtaining her Graduate Diploma in Law from the University of Law.

  • Various v News Group Newspapers – corresponding with clients regarding their individual claims against The Sun and the News of the World for misuse of private information by voicemail interception and unlawful information gathering. Dealing with claims from the initial stages right through to settlement and attending court for hearings.
  • Various v Mirror Group Newspapers – assisting members of the team in advising clients bringing claims against MGN for misuse of private information by voicemail interception and unlawful information gathering.
  • Various v Associated Newspapers Limited – assisting members of the team in advising clients bringing claims against ANL for misuse of private information and unlawful information gathering.
