About Aselle
Aselle is a Corporate and Banking Partner and Head of the Real Estate Finance team.
Aselle specialises in banking and corporate law.
She acts for banks and property investors in corporate transactions and secured lending transactions, drafts and negotiates corporate documents, facility agreements and security packages to facilitate a range of high value investment and development transactions.
Clients like Aselle’s ability to manage complicated transactions effectively, in a timely manner and to the clients’ satisfaction.
Aselle is a Russian speaking solicitor qualified in both England & Wales and the CIS.
Between 1994 and 2002, she practised law in the Kyrgyz Republic working as a lawyer in private practice, she was a legal advisor to the Mayor of Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan’s capital) and visiting lecturer at Bishkek University. In 1999, she established her own law firm in Bishkek. Her firm was retained by a number of multinational companies, charities and a major European government to advise on their operations in Kyrgyzstan. She was one of the authors of the Commentaries to the Civil Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Aselle trained with a London firm of solicitors, was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in England and Wales in 2007, joined Hamlins in 2009 and became a Partner in 2017.
She studied law at Moscow’s Lomonosov University and the Kyrgyz State University before graduating in 1994. The first Kyrgyz lawyer to qualify as an English solicitor, Aselle obtained a Diploma in English Law from BPP Law School in London in 2004, an LPC Diploma from the same school in 2005 and an LLM in Tax Law from Queen Mary and Westfield College (University of London) in 2008.
Aselle is recognised by Legal 500 as a Recommended Lawyer for M&A and for real estate finance.

- Acting for a London based group of property investment companies on loans secured over residential and commercial investment portfolio across the UK in a number of separate transactions with various lenders in the aggregate amount of around £200 million over the past 6 years.
- Advising an overseas real estate investor on loans from an overseas bank to assist with the purchase of high-value London office and retail properties in 4 separate transactions in the aggregate amount of £133 million over the past 7 years.
- Acting for a group of property investment companies on loans secured over office and retail properties in Swindon, Milton Keynes, Bristol, Liverpool and Sheffield from various lenders in a number of transactions in the aggregate amount of £49 million over the past 5 years.
- Acting for subsidiaries of an AIM company in relation to property investment facilities from NatWest (£40 million) and Lloyds (£6.8 Million) secured over commercial properties across England.
Acting for a property investment company on a £26 million refinance of a commercial (retail and office) property portfolio in Manchester with a high-street lender. - Acting for a family office in relation to two loans (£25 million and £15 million) from Arbuthnot Latham & Co., Limited secured over prime London residential property investment portfolio.
- Acting for a London based property investment company on the refinance of its two property investment portfolios in the City and Clerkenwell with Lloyds Bank Plc:
- £14.8 million, and
- £14.3 million.
- Acting for clients in relation to 3 loans from PRS Finance Plc under the PRS Scheme Rules (https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/housing-guarantee-scheme-rules-private-rented-sector):
- £17.5 million,

- Acting for a property investment group in relation to loans from RBS (£8.1 million) and Santander (£6.7 million).
- Acting for the London branch of an overseas bank in relation to loans:
- in the amount of £20 million to a luxury furniture manufacturing group of companies based in West Midlands;
- in the amount of £16.5 million to a US company with investments in the UK sport industry;
- in the amount of £13 million to a furniture manufacturing group of companies based in Essex;
- in the amount of £7 m to a manufacturing group in Midlands; and
- in the amount of £3 million to a fast food restaurant chain head-quartered in Worcestershire.
- Trusteeships or charitable involvement: Aselle organises fundraising events in London in support of Uplift – Aufwind which helps families with disabled children in Kyrgyzstan.
