About Angus

Angus is a Trainee Solicitor currently undertaking a seat with the Media Disputes department.

Angus works across a variety of matters including defamation claims and the ongoing litigation for unlawful information gathering against News Group Newspapers and MGN Limited.

Angus has experience across various stages of the dispute resolution process, including conducting pre-action research, analysing disclosure, attending client meetings, attending Court, helping prepare for settlement negotiations and assisting in costs recovery. He has also assisted in drafting various pleadings including Preliminary Notification Letters, Letters of Claim, Particulars of Claim and Witness Statements.

Angus is currently assisting in the ongoing litigation as to unlawful information gathering against Associated Newspapers Limited in which Hamlins is acting for Prince Harry, The Duke of Sussex, and Sadie Frost.

He joined Hamlins in September 2022 and was promoted to Senior Paralegal in September 2023, before commencing his training contract in September 2024.

Angus graduated from the University of Birmingham in 2021 with first class honours for his BA in Ancient History, before achieving a Distinction in his Masters in Law at the University of Law in July 2022.
