About Kay

Kay is an Associate in our Real Estate Disputes team and has over 10 years’ experience dealing with property disputes.

Kay acts on a range of commercial real estate disputes including business lease renewals, both opposed and unopposed, service charge disputes, disputes concerning breaches of lease covenants, dilapidations, trespass and occupier’s liability, property related insolvency, forfeiture and possession claims, and debt recovery.

She specialises in matters concerning the electronic communication code and has acted for both site providers and operators in both renewing agreements and obtaining vacant possession of sites for redevelopment purposes.

Kay also has experience of dealing with residential matters such as extensions pursuant to the Leasehold Reform, Housing and Urban Developments Act 1993. She also advises on service charge and major works recovery under both the Landlord and Tenant Act 1985 and the Landlord and Tenant Act 1987.

She deals with both the County Courts and the Tribunal.

Kay is a member of the Property Litigation Association and a committee member for the junior branch of the Property Litigation Association. She organises numerous events including webinars, a joint summer event with the Junior Property Barrister Association, and a “bring a trainee” event, an initiative to encourage the next generation of property litigators.

She began her career as a paralegal in 2015 and initially qualified as a Chartered Legal Executive two years later in 2017, ahead of cross qualifying as a Solicitor in 2020.
