The Legal 500 2020 directory has been released and we are delighted that our corporate team ranks highly again this year with an emphasis on the investment in expanding our international reach.
The corporate team has been recognised in the directory for its expertise in both small and mid-cap flotations and M&A deals up to £50 million. Daniel Bellau, Robert Rakison and Lisa Faragher have all been noted in the guide and Daniel has secured the additional, and highest, ranking of Leading Individual in recognition of his “personable and client facing” excellence in M&A transactions.
The Legal 500 notes that “the biggest story from Hamlins LLP’s corporate department has been its investment in expanding its international reach” and cites international business consultant and well known corporate lawyer Robert Rakison joining as evidence of this.
Head of Corporate Daniel Bellau is described as “skilled and experienced in all aspects of corporate law, giving astute and practical advice”. His work highlights this year include “corporate finance matters for entrepreneurs, SMEs and large corporates, with M&A activities spanning both the public and private markets”.
The team is ranked highly for outstanding work for high-calibre clients such as Park Plaza Hotels Europe, Palace Capital plc and Angelfish Investments plc and is recommended as an “attentive firm that understands the client’s needs and is able to grasp issues and opportunities and advise accordingly”.
In terms of industry sectors, the team attracts “a flow of work in real estate and leisure sectors, and also regularly works in conjunction with its specialist media group”.
